Custom wheelchairs designed for your needs

With 25+ years of seating and positioning experience, we offer state-of-the-art seating evaluations using custom seating systems. We evaluate and offer recommendations for wheelchairs, cushions, postural alignment, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME). We coordinate with physicians, vendors, family members, and insurance plans to ensure that our patients’ equipment is suitable and meets all of their needs.

Power Assist Technology

Power assist devices are motorized add-ons that attach to manual wheelchairs to provide extra propulsion and reduce physical strain. Designed for users who want to maintain the freedom of a manual chair while needing occasional help with hills, long distances, or uneven terrain, power assist systems offer the best of both worlds. They help:

  • Reduce shoulder and joint stress

  • Conserve energy during daily activities

  • Improve independence and mobility over varied surface

Custom Seating

Precision Rehab offers custom orthotic seating systems. We will evaluate your overall body positioning to determine how to best support you in your wheelchair with a custom cushion, backrest, or both. Benefits include:

  • Stability

  • Pelvic positioning for pressure relief

  • Improved upright alignment

The Journey to your wheelchair

1. Initial Evaluation

A physical therapy evaluation is required to determine what equipment best suits your needs. Your PT will work with your equipment vendor to recommend and write a letter of medical necessity (LOMN) to apply for insurance coverage.

2. Demos & Specs

Precision Rehab recommends you demo the equipment you are interested in. Once you select your equipment, we will use our clinical expertise along with your vendor to customize your equipment specs based on your measurements and personal function and mobility.

3. Fitting & Delivery

Your PT and vendor will collaborate to properly position and set you up in your new wheelchair. This is essential to adjust your new wheelchair to fit you perfectly and optimize your performance in your new wheelchair.
