Angela Mandas
Speech Language Pathologist
Angela Mandas received her Master of Arts from California State University-Fullerton (CSUF) and is currently licensed by the state of California as a Speech Language Pathologist. She has been working as a Senior Speech Language Pathologist at Long Beach Memorial Hospital for 19 years and currently teaches at Chapman University, California State University- Dominguez Hills and Long Beach. Her specialty areas include neurologic disorders and dysphagia. She also serves as a Medical Expert for legal cases.
Mrs. Mandas is an ASHA certified SLP who is also certified to work with children and adults of all ages. She also has certification in Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, Vital Stim ®, Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LVST)®, and Interactive Metronome. In addition, she is trained in the Beckman approach to neuromuscular disorders.
Angela is the President of the California Speech and hearing Association (CSHA), the commissioner of Research and Publications, and the state convention Program Chair for the past 4 years. Mrs. Mandas has also been involved in numerous publications, including a column in a national publication called the “Administration and Supervision for ASHA’s Special Interest Division”. Her column, which she has been writing for two years, deals with ethics in the workplace.
Mrs. Mandas is also very active in the community, as she has been involved in volunteer organizations, such as the Southern California Head Injury Foundation, the Jonathan Jaques Cancer Fundraiser, and the Painted Turtle camp for children with chronic illnesses. Angela is also the editor of the B.R.A.I.N newsletter, a non-profit organization that brings awareness to the community about Brain Injuries. In addition, she is also the Group leader for the Communications Groups.
